Tuesday was Church Council meeting and we went along to help Mama take notes; she is the Council Secretary. Wednesday, Mama and our boy didn't feel well, so after school they went to the doctor. Mama got a shot and lots of medicine. Thursday was extra busy. After school, Mama got her locs tightened, picked up Papa from the train and then had a Council meeting and Praise Dance class and then shopped at Wal-Mart. It was the first time we had been to that store; it was very big and rather scary.
Packages had been arriving all week in preparation for our new arrival. Desk, chair, bookcase and books all were waiting. Finally, on Friday Miss Jo March arrived. Zita and I greeted her warmly and showed her to her office. It needed work, but we didn't want to decorate until we had her input.
We worked on her office Saturday evening and had it just the way she wanted it before bedtime. We are all rather pleased with the results.

Seeing her lovely room makes me want a private office of my own, but even if we have the space my poor desk and chair would be sadly lacking. What I truly need is a Hitty desk of proper scale like my Ancestor Hitty had. I prefer to have wood furniture around me although Miss Jo's room is very beautiful. Oh well, someday perhaps.

Jo and her office are splendid! She must feel quite light-hearted after having been writing in a garret for so many years. Everything looks so fresh and pretty - I know you worked hard to make her feel at home, and she will surely pen (er, type?) some mighty new stories there. Happy
