Going to the Current Middle Ages

Yesterday, Bitty Zita and I went to our first SCA event. Zita got a new dress and wore my blouse as a chemise. Mama had made me a black dress with gold stars a while back especially to wear to SCA events. We live in the Kingdom of Ansteorra and Mama has been Queen twice, so she is now a Duchess. The event we went to was Defender of the Rose Tourney. Mama is a member of the Order of the Rose and had to help out at the tourney. Bitty Zita and I were very excited to enter her other world for the first time.

Here we are with the table Mama made and our feast gear and snacks. Mama remembered to pack our food and forgot her own, Silly Mama.

Here is a better picture; we have plates, silverware, mugs and a floorcloth to sit on. We were very comfortable.

We helped run the Rapier List with Mama's friend Countess Sibri.

Mama introduced us to a lot of her friends. Much fuss was made of us, especially Zita because Mama carved her. Mama is a friend of the current princess, Princess Elizabetta. She is so nice! She took a picture with us.

It was a great day and I can't wait until we get to go again.
